How To Manage Hibernate Mode in Windows 7

How To Manage Hibernate Mode in Windows 7

If you don’t use the Hibernate option in Windows 7, you can save some disk space by disabling it. Here we will look at a few different ways to manage hibernate options in Windows 7.

Enable or Disable Hibernate Through Command Prompt

Using the Command Prompt might be the easiest way to enable or disable Hibernation. Click on Start and type CMD into the search box and it will be listed under programs. Right-click on the icon and select Run as administrator.

6hi

The Command Prompt opens and you will use the following to enable Hibernation.

powercfg /hibernate on

Type in the following to disable hibernation.

powercfg /hibernate off

Manage Hibernation Through Control Panel

Click on Start and open Control Panel then click on Power Options.

On the left side click on Change when the computer sleeps.

Now click on Change advanced power settings.

In the Advanced Power Options window expand the Sleep tree then expand Hibernate afterand change the minutes to zero to turn it off. Or you can specify the amount of minutes you want to pass before it goes into hibernation. After you’ve made your selection click Apply and Ok then close out of the remaining screens.

Where is Hibernate?

What if you try the command line option to turn it on and Hibernate mode still isn’t available? Then what you’ll want to do is disable Hybrid Sleep by expanding Allow hybrid sleep and turning it Off.

Now you should have Hibernate and Sleep as part of the power options in the start menu and will also be an option when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Disable Hibernate Through Regedit

Note: Changing registry values can cause your computer to become unstable or stop functioning and is only recommended for experienced users.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way…you might want to completely disable Hibernate mode through a registry edit. Open the Registry and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Power and change both HiberFileSizePercent andHibernateEnabled value data to zero. After you’ve made the changes close out of the Registry Editor and restart the machine.

If you always turn off your computer or never do, you can disable the Hibernate mode to gain a bit of extra hard disk space. On our Windows 7 (32-bit) machine with a 300GB hard drive, disabling Hibernation gained us just over 3GB of more disk space. That may not seem like much especially with today’s high capacity drives, but if you don’t need Hibernation, why not reclaim that space?

How to Repair corrupted files in windows manually

How to Repair corrupted files in windows manually

Are you getting system errors while running windows operating system or start up? Does your windows file display message reinstall or windows file errors? Does viruses hascorrupted your system files? Does your important windows files got deleted? Most important your shortcuts and windows programs are not working properly? Does yourregistry got corrupted and displaying registry errors? I know its quite irritating whenyou got such error message in middle or start up. Most guys think that external software's and formatting system can only solve such problems. If you are one of them, i will prove that you all are wrong and we can repair our system as perfect new one withoutinstalling any new software or formatting windows system. We can repair our system in less than 5 minutes and most amazing thing is that i will explain you manual method of doing that. So friends, today i am going to explain you How to repair corruptedsystem files in windows manually. For repairing system, you just need to know windows inbuilt tools that almost 99% of guys doesn't know as windows never focused on that feature.

I have also explained another method in my previous post "How to fix corrupt files in windows". So today i am explaining a new manual methods to fix windows errors andrepairing system files.
Yesterday i was browsing my sytem32 folder in windows and checking some executable. I was very curious what these executable do and in fulfillment of my curiousness i found something really awesome that will make you all of them crazy. I founder something called"webfldrs" and you all will be amazed to see what it serves. Its absolutely serves for different purpose as its name suggests. This windows executable repairs everything in windows system. Its has several features listed below:
1. Repairs all detected reinstall problems.
2. Verify and repair registry entries for user windows programs.
3. Validates the shortcuts.
4. Reinstall if the file is missing, or an older version exists.
5. Reinstall if file has different version.
6. Reinstall the dll or exe if file has different or invalid checksum.
7. Verify local registry entries are present and repair if not.

Guys can you make a guess which of the above features i like most?? I love 5 and 6 feature the most? Why?? Answer is quite tricky but easy to guess. Reinstall if file has different version, or different check sum or invalid check sum. What the hell is this checksum.. Aha..... Checksum is the technique or method to verify the integrity of file. When Microsoft has designed exe or dll or simply a file they have calculated a checksum parameter. Now when some virus infects that file or attach itself to it, what happens is that, its value of checksum changes(as checksum calculation is based on bits, as extra code is added to it so its size surely gonna increase and number of bits involved will also change). So you now come to know why i like 5 and 6 points. If still not, guys they fixes the windows system files that viruses has infected or corrupted.
That was the background as i want to teach you hacking not just wanna make you script kiddie. So lets learn how to repair corrupted system files in windows manually.

Steps to repair or fix windows manually:
1. Go to drive in which you have installed operating system. In my case its C drive.

Here is complete path:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\webfldrs.msi

t:3. Open WebFldrs file by double click it, you will see something like below snapshot

4. Now a window will pop up. Select all the options as shown below and click on OK.

5. Now after you click Ok, you are back to previous window. There click on reinstall as shown below:

Website security indicators For Google Chrome

Website security indicators For Google Chrome

When you connect to a website, Google Chrome can show you details about your connection and alert you if it’s unable to establish a fully secure connection with the site. Learn about Google Chrome's security settings.
See if the site is using a secure connection (SSL)
If you’re entering sensitive personal information on a page, look for a lock icon to the left of the site’s URL in the address bar to see if the site uses SSL. SSL is a protocol that provides an encrypted tunnel between your computer and the site you’re viewing. Sites can use SSL to prevent third parties from interfering with the information traveling through the tunnel.
The site isn't using SSL. Most sites don’t need to use SSL because they don’t handle sensitive information. Avoid entering sensitive information, such as usernames and passwords, on the page.

Google Chrome has successfully established a secure connection with the site.Look for this icon and check the URL if you’re required to log in to the site or enter sensitive information on the page.

If a site uses an Extended Validation SSL (EV-SSL) certificate, the organization's name also appears next to the icon in green text. Make sure the browser is set to check for server certification revocation to identify sites with EV-SSL certificates. bellow
EV-SSL certificates

Set Google Chrome to check for server certification revocation. These steps apply to Google Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linx, and Chrome OS:
  1. Click the wrench  icon  on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on Chrome OS).
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Select the “Check for server certificate revocation” checkbox.
If you still don't see the organization's name, it may be due to one of the following conditions:
  • The website might not use an EV-SSL certificate. EV certificates provide extra assurance as to the identity of the website, but not all websites using SSL use EV-SSL certificates.
  • The website might contain security errors, such as mixed content or expired certificates.
  • The certificate revocation information may be temporarily unavailable from the server.

The site uses SSL, but Google Chrome has detected either high-risk insecure content on the page or problems with the site’s certificate. Don’t enter sensitive information on this page. Site identity
Sites using SSL present security certificates to the browser to verify their identity. Anyone can set up a website pretending to be another site, but only the real site possesses a valid security certificate for the URL you’re trying to reach. Invalid certificates could indicate that someone is attempting to tamper with your connection to the site.

The site’s certificate is valid and its identity has been verified by a trusted third-party authority.
The site has not provided the browser with a certificate. This is normal for regular HTTP sites (look for the   icon in the address bar), because certificates are usually provided only if the site uses SSL.
Google Chrome has detected problems with the site’s certificate. You should proceed with caution because the site may be pretending to be another site in order to trick you into sharing personal or other sensitive information with them.

Your connection to the site
Google Chrome lets you know whether your connection is fully encrypted. If your connection is insecure, third parties might be able to view or tamper with the information you provide on the site.
Your connection to the site is not encrypted. This is normal for regular HTTP sites (look for the  icon in the address bar).
Your connection to the site is encrypted, but Google Chrome has detected mixed content on the page. Be careful if you’re entering information on this page. Mixed content can provide a loophole for someone to manipulate the page. This content could be third-party images, videos, or ads embedded on the page.

If you’re connected to the Internet via a public wireless network, mixed content is especially risky because wireless networks are easier to tamper with than wired networks.

App Store bypassed without jailbreaking (how to install payed apps from apple store for free)

in_app_purchase_hack_confirm
Apple is investigating yet another security breach in its iTunes app store . A Russian hacker worked out a way that allows people to bypass payment in the App Store and download products for free.

The hacker, dubbed ZonD80, posted a video of the crack on YouTube(Deleted by Youtube now) and claims that the technique makes it possible to beat Apple's payment systems by installing a couple of certificates and assigning a specific IP address to the device.

The new service, which has already been subject to attempts at shutting it down, requires no jailbreaking and only minimal configuration changes. It works by funneling purchase requests through a server operated by the hacker, rather than the legitimate one offered by Apple. As a result, charges that normally would be applied to a user's account are bypassed.
Below are the steps to the hack:
  • Install two certificates: CA and in-appstore.com.
  • Connect via Wi-Fi network and change the DNS to 62.76.189.117.
  • Press the Like button and enter your Apple ID & password.
  • Using the above hack, you are actually stealing in-app purchase content from developers, which is kind of disturbing and is of course against developer’s terms of service.
ZonD80 is now asking for donations to set up a website to promote the hack."Why you must to pay for content, already included in purchased app? I think, you must not," he said.

Apple has responded with the following statement:“The security of the App Store is incredibly important to us and the developer community,” Apple representative Natalie Harrison. “We take reports of fraudulent activity very seriously and we are investigating.”
